Hey! It’s me, Linda! The engineer-turned- #momtog from that pretty little town no one’s heard of ( #dundasont)! This is my very first #fridayintroductions post, for all of you out there who aren’t my mother (although I love that you’re probably reading this too, Mum!) and therefore don’t already know everything about me! It’s also my 100th post, so yay! I’m a Nova Scotia transplant, so yes, I do love seafood, know how to sail and can sing along with Barrett’s Privateers. I have the two most adorable little girls on the planet - a smart, shy, energetic, imaginative and stubbornly independent 3-year-old and a sweet, silly, clever, nurturing and un-sleeping 1-year-old (who is incidentally trying to gouge out my right eye while I write this). My husband is the best. Like actually the best husband in the world. Positive, fun, supportive, and incredibly hard-working. I love food and cooking, and have thousands of recipes saved on Pinterest, but never follow any of them, because rules are made to be broken! Except in every other area of life, because I actually love rules and structure. I love to travel and explore, but I’m secretly (ok not so secretly now) a bit of a princess and lover of modern plumbing, so I’m not so into camping. We live near some pretty incredible nature, so we’re all about the family day hikes. My love can be bought with cappuccinos... or pizza... or tacos... or ice cream. I’m pretty shy and introverted, but I do genuinely love people, just in smaller, quieter doses. If I had a sick day at home alone I would probably spend it watching romantic comedies and reading home design blogs. My favourite Bible verses are Romans 8:38-39. Read them and hopefully you’ll understand why. I am so grateful to everyone who has trusted me to capture their special moments and connections so far, and I’m excited for everything that’s to come! Thanks for following along! ♥️ Linda
Here's my kid - being a toddler. An over-tired, spirited little toddler. Most of the images I take of her aren't smiles or perfectly posed portraits. For every 50 outtakes - there's one smile in there. Both kinds of images are very much my daughter. And although we as parents often aim for the big smiles or cute moments, both the outtakes and smiles are equally special. Sometimes, even though our little ones can test our patience (and sometimes test it a lot lol!) - it's good to remember, they're just being little. They're busy being boisterous, clever, and ever-learning little humans - and it can be exhausting.
Parents, as hard as it can be to remember amidst the daily chaos & hustle - you are still a couple. There may be a little less alone time these days but you are still each other’s partner & best friend. During a family session, let’s take a moment to capture a few images of just the two of you.
