Great to catch up with Guy Pearce - we met on the set of Neighbours many moons ago - at the launch of his album The Nomad. Great songs and heartfelt lyrics. I discovered a great musician - pianist and guitar player. #guypearce#guypearcemusic#thenomad#newmusic#neighbours
Dark Knight reviews: #jackirish@abctv
In ABC’s Jack Irish, Irish is quiet an annoying character: he drinks and acts irresponsibly, putting himself and others in danger, but he is also relentless and incredibly bright. You can easily check-out from this show, if the character was played by anyone else other than Guy Pearce. Guy is terrific as Jack, his face is a roadmap of everything Jack is feeling – the hurt, the vulnerability, the insecurity, the need for acceptance and his absolute resolve in doing the right thing. Guy grounds the show by making an unlikeable character charismatic and also redeemable. The show is good too, set against the backdrop of Australian universities that are making millions off vulnerable students and exploiting them more than once for their own interests. It also throws a light on the underbelly of the international education system: immigration departments, police, universities, corporate interest , media, they’re all making money off these students in one way or another. I was once an international student and watching this show scared me, moved me and also entertained me. I reckon it is worth your time, as it does give you perspective on Australia and the Australian dreamof these international students. My favourite line in the series is in the first episode itself, when Jack Irish asks an Indian student: “Do you speak English?”, “Yes”, “Probably better than you" she retorts. I love it.

The new @netflix series #TheInnocents is a slow burn, but as the 8 episodes unfold, it gets better. June & Harry, magnetic & charming leads #SorchaGroundsell & #PercelleAscott, run away to escape their mundane & stifled life in the English country, when they discover, out from under June’s father’s strict control of her, she learns of her “special” condition. June can shape-shift, & when a doctor, #GuyPearce, sends an associate to bring her back to his farm in Norway, their plans become complex.
Decent flick. Kinda got some twists and turns. Ending was ok.
A new image for Focus Features and Working Title Films’ upcoming historical drama “Mary Queen of Scots” has been released; courtesy of The New York Times. The film, which will star Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie, Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, Martin Compston, Maria Dragus, Guy Pearce, David Tennant, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Brendan Coyle, Gemma Chan, Ian Hart, James McArdle and Brandan Coyle, was directed by Josie Rourke from a screenplay by Beau Willimon, based on the 2004 biography by John Guy, “The True Life of Mary Stuart.” The film will explore “the turbulent life of the charismatic Mary Stuart (Ronan). Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. But Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth I (Robbie). Each young Queen beholds her “sister” in fear and fascination. Rivals in power and in love, and female regents in a masculine world, the two must decide how to play the game of marriage versus independence. Determined to rule as much more than a figurehead, Mary asserts her claim to the English throne, threatening Elizabeth’s sovereignty. Betrayal, rebellion, and conspiracies within each court imperil both thrones – and change the course of history.” “Mary Queen of Scots” will be arriving in theaters on December 7th, 2018. This is a follow up to my previous post of the on going 2 Week long TMNT story and fan-cast I want brought to the big screen!
At first glance you might think of Men in Black and actually...you’d be SOME WHAT right.
I really don’t expect anyone to really know who this TMNT villain is so let’s dive into the enigma known as Agent Bishop.
John Bishop is a special agent for the government and is also head of the Earth Protection Force. Little is known about John Bishops 190 years of life except that he was once a U.S. soldier during the early 19th century, John Bishop's life was changed forever when, for unknown reasons, he was abducted by Gray Alien during a battle on Earth. After being experimented on, he escapes back to the battlefield. What exactly the experiments entailed is unknown, although it is speculated that they are at least partly responsible for Bishop's longevity and enhanced strength. The Abduction traumatized Bishop and let him develop a long-lasting paranoia against aliens. Marked by the experience, he has since dedicated his life to Protecting Earth from Extraterrestrial Beings. But now he’s put his focus toward experimenting on mutants and next on his radar...The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I would introduce Agent Bishop at the end of the second films end credits during an interaction scene between Himself and Old Hob. While Hob along with Bebop and Rocksteady are in-prisoned at a Secret Government Facility for Mutants. I would also use Agent Bishop for the Main Villian of the third film. His objective his to take town the turtles but for this film he’s going to need some help in understanding this unique mutation.
This was a very hard choice that I literally almost changed the plot and villain but I stuck and dug deep into who I believe could overall see in the role and that is Guy Pearce. An amazing actor who can be hated so easily in his roles. This could be a very great opportunity to use that in this type of role.
Confidential: Magazine of the 1950’s exposing some of the insider thrill surrounding celebrities and crime.
There are three cops: straight-arrow Exley, rule bender Bud and a snitch Vincennes. What is so good about these characters is the potential that any one of them could be the bad guy. While seemingly maintaining them on the same side, though each with their own personal motivations, the movie plays with this possibility until the near end. The 50’s context is exciting and immersing, in a time when the world of police work overlapped show business - an era of emerging sensationalism. We follow a string of events surrounding a homicide at the Night Owl Cafe and none of these seem related. However, they are intriguing enough for us to forget the fact until the plot fantastically pieces together. Characters and relationships in this film are truly convincing - the noire category is used not as decoration but as a context in which they can exist.
Then there is the famous scene. At the Formosa Cafe, Exley and Vincennes interview pornographer Johnny Stompanato about the killings. He is accompanied by a loud woman. “A hooker cut to look like Lana Turner is still a hooker”, says Exley. His partner assures him “she is Lana Turner”.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994)
Director: Stephan Elliott
I need to get myself more into Australian cinema, because there are a lot of great gems from there. "Priscilla" was a hugely entertaining film, in part from the three leads, Terrence Stamp, Hugo Weaving, and Guy Pearce, with Pearce stealing every scene with his hilarious dialogue and manic energy. The costumes are absolutely extravagant, bringing a level of flamboyance without over exaggerating and stereotyping on drag queens. The chemistry among the three leads is also fantastic, and I was able to feel this connection between them that was so genuine and engaging to watch. I just loved the simple nature of the movie and once it ended I wanted to go on another road trip with these people. It's a staple among LGBT films and I hope to see more of you guys watch it! It's on Amazon Prime if you have it! #TheAdventuresofPriscillaQueenoftheDesert#TerrenceStamp#HugoWeaving#GuyPearce#QueerCinema#DragQueens#LGBT
guy pearce having trouble with his memorie, no this is not memento. traces of a murdered student are found in his car but he can’t remember a thing. pierce brosnan is a persistent detective and likes his role but the script takes a walk with the viewer and you feel betrayed with the bland end. 2/5

So finally finished watching #Netflix new series @theinnocents and words cannot describe how brilliant this first season was. Everything from the writing, acting and cinematography was flawless - @percelleascott and @sorcha.groundsell have terrific chemistry together and have such a strong presence on screen as well. #guypearce was outstanding in his performance and the rest of the cast were perfect in the respective roles, capturing the flawed complexity of their characters - especially the many actors who played June's character captured the essence of her character brilliantly. What really blew me away with this show in particular was it's clever writing and storytelling - the supernatural element of the story had logic behind it and the characters reacted realistically in these extreme circumstances. The twists throughout each episode even had me on the edge of my seat, I was genuinely shocked and impressed at certain revelations and the cliffhanger of the season finale was nothing short of spectacular. Anyone who hasn't watched it - seriously, go watch it now! 😜 Hopefully #theinnocentsnetflix gets a #seasontwo
35. Memento (2000)
• Director: Christopher Nolan
• Writers: Christopher Nolan (screenplay), Jonathan Nolan (short story "Memento Mori")
• Stars: Guy Pearce, Carrie-Anne Moss, Joe Pantoliano

One of the more underrated actors working today, #guypearce exudes cool, collected authority while avoiding any loss of charm or sensibility. His history of playing both sides of the morality coin displays a range of skill not dissimilar to his predecessors, Oldman and Simmons. From fathers to low-life government scum bags, Guy possesses more than enough talent and pedigree to play one of the caped crusader’s most trusted allies in Commissioner James Gordon #thebatman#mattreeves#dccomics#dcfilms#worldsofdc#warnerbros
