MOVIE REVIEW: It turns out that misery really does love company. #DestinationWedding is what #BeforeSunrise would have been if instead of idealistic college-aged people looking at the world with hope while discussing philosophy, life, and love, it was about jaded, pessimistic, sniping middle-aged social outcasts who hate their lives and all the people in them. Instead of the nuanced, layered acting abilities of an Ethan Hawke-type, we've got Keanu Reeves. Look, don't get us wrong, we love us some Keanu, but he's just not the right fit for this kind of role. We've heard some say, "at least it looks like #KeanuReeves and #WinonaRyder are having fun making this movie"...that's because they are finally working. Harsh, but it's true. When their characters first meet, they have a bit of a heated back and forth, which we found a little charming and funny...the first time around. However, the appeal of their bickering quickly fades as their interactions turn into a bigger, more toxic bitch-fest with every exchange they have. One cannot deny that a few of their conversations ring true and do feel a little realistic, but on the other hand, the majority of the dialogue sounds like banter absolutely no one would say in a natural conversation. Oh, and #DestinationWeddingMovie also has one of the weirdest, most awkward sex scenes we've ever seen, and we've seen some shit. If you're a sardonic, cold-hearted cynic, you may eat up the bitterness and find these characters preaching to the choir. We personally send our regards, but would not attend this function.
